Activities in the area

The ranch is located directly on Sweden's largest river: the Klarälven, which means "clear river. The ranch has 28 acres of its own land, of which about 14 acres are forest and 14 acres are pasture. We also lease 6 acres from our neighbors, giving us a total of about 34 acres at our disposal. The horses have access to about 20 acres of land.

Sun Dance Ranch is located in the middle of nature, but only 5 km from the center of the cozy village of Ekshärad. The surroundings of the ranch are beautiful, especially for nature lovers! There are several marked hiking trails around the ranch, about an hour's walk away. There are several lakes in the backyard and the beavers are very active there. There is also a beautiful lake where you can fish or just enjoy the peach and the surroundings.

It is also a nice place to canoeën or fish. The lakes are ​​connected to the Klarälven River, on which the ranch is located. In addition, the ranch is home to plenty of wildlife, including elk, beaver, deer, foxes, badgers, cranes and maybe even a lynx, wolf or bear. Although rare, of course, they are usually deeper in the forest and very shy. We occasionally see ​​tracks of lynx and wolves during our walks. In our backyard, you can see that the beavers are very active. One day you see nothing and the next day a lot of trees are down. Very special! Behind our own forest is a beautiful lake. And there are also plenty of opportunities and routes for mountain biking.

The waterfall Brattfallet, with a beautiful hiking trail, is really beautiful and well worth a visit, both for a short (1 hour) and a long walk (3-4 hours). Brattfallet is located 17 km north of the ranch, not to mention the beautiful sunset that can be seen from the ranch is worth a picture almost every day!
